Funny Faces

Our Artistic Director, Rosemary Hill, was asked by Next Page Productions to direct these two monologues by Steve Dimmer featuring the lives of actors Joan Sims and Sid James. “SIMply Joan” – Joan Sims takes a walk down memory lane. Joanie reflect on her professional work and her private heartache, sometimes hilariously, often touchingly as we witness her determination to “Carry On”! “Wot Sid Did” sees Sid James in his stage dressing room before his last performance. Sid’s in pensive mood as he looks back on his career, his life and his lost love, Barbara Windsor. A funny and poignant piece about one of Britain’s best loved actors.

Funny Faces

“This original an interesting production which gives a glimpse into the real lives behind those Funny Faces is certainly worth seeing. A superb performance, enthralling from the first line until the last.”

Behind The Arras

Funny Faces

“....minimally staged and reliant on two strong actors who each hold their audience for the best part of an hour, Nash and Dimmer achieve this with ease. Their performances are charismatic and convincing”
