Shahnaz Hussain
Shahnaz, known as Shiny, has been part of the Milton Keynes arts scene for 50 years, working across TV, radio, and theatre as a producer, director, composer, writer, and performer. She has enjoyed a long creative partnership with Rosemary Hill on projects for ‘The Play’s the Thing,’ ‘Pepper’s Ghost,’ and Stantonbury Theatre. Trained as a classical pianist, she has played keyboards and has sung with various bands. Former Director of KiK Music, she has worked across the community working with schools, young offenders, businesses, and organisations like MK Dons and MK Council. Other notable achievements include co-musically directing and performing at the opening of Stadium MK by H.M. The Queen, and MK 40th Birthday Gala. She co-wrote, produced, and directed PULSE, a multi-disciplinary theatrical production that premiered at MK Theatre, created the Milton Keynes Community Choir and co-musical directed Sondheim’s “Assassins”. In her spare time, she enjoys reviewing the for the MK Citizen and MK Community Hub.
