Lisa Stenhouse
Lisa has been thrilled to work with The Play’s Thing in both Splendour (Genevieve) and Entertaining Mr Sloane (Kath). She has performed extensively on stage since singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat as the Dormouse in Alice and Wonderland, aged 8. Following a degree in French and Spanish at Oxford she followed her dream by training at Mountview.
Lisa’s fabulously fierce female characters have included gay 80s politically outspoken Max in Death and Dancing, crotch-kneeing incestuous May (Fool for Love), angry wheel-chair bound Stephanie Abrahams (Duet for One) and empowered Nora (A Doll’s House). Not forgetting the murderous Lady Macbeth and Hamlet. She recently featured in commercials for Specsavers and a Swiss Insurance Company. Both involved animals!
Lisa is also a writer, producer, director, and actress for Peppermint Muse Theatre company. She lovingly premiered new writing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2014 and 2015, booking tours for the three shows. Her one-woman play Lavender Junction was inspired by tape recordings of her grandmother’s life in colonial India.
Lisa is also a Brand Storyteller helping businesses discover their Authentic Awesomeness and expressing it in their marketing.
Her daily rituals include fresh coffee, a healthy dose of gratitude, learning, and inspirational reading; the gym (sanity, vanity, meditation) and paging through Vogue (she’s still just a girl who loves playing dress-up)!
